We spent some time reviewing all the plants you have shown us and the trends surrounding our jungles to compile the 2026 Trendy Houseplant List.
We’re a little late to the party, but we wanted to wait for everyone else to do their roundups, to show off their plant babies before we put this together. So, let’s go!
Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum)
Starting off our list strong, we have the Spider Plant. This is a plant that may seem overrated or everywhere, but we think it deserves its spot on this list. Plants that have the ability to move seamlessly between indoors and outdoors can offer the best of both worlds, with no worries about seasonality.
This plant is native to tropical and southern Africa but has also been naturalised in other parts of the world, such as Western Australia and Bangladesh. It has air-purifying qualities and quick-growing abilities. While they are ideal for all around the home, they are also incredible plants to add to your bathroom collection!

Sweetheart Philodendron (Philodendron Cordatum)
One of the easiest plants to grow and perfect for novice plant lovers, though still holding sophistication and elegance, is the Sweetheart Philodendron. It often is mistaken for a pothos, but don’t get it mixed up; they’re very different from each other. Their leaves are thinner and smoother, and in the shape of a heart (how fitting, right?).
You can choose from a dark, emerald green that the Cordatum provides or the chartreuse coloured leaves of the Lemon Lime for that pop of colour, maybe even both.
They are incredibly easy and low maintenance, thriving in lower light conditions as well as some neglect. Style them in a basket for that trailing look or provide them with a coco-pole for that climber design.
This is a common houseplant, known and loved by many plant lovers, and it’ll remain the plant that we all know and love.

Calathea ‘Fusion White’ (Calathea lietzei)
A part of the most beautiful foliage houseplants, this is the White Fusion Calathea. It comes with those beautiful white and green leaves, sometimes giving off a pink hue, that can really add dimension and colour to any corner.
Now, they are notorious troublemakers due to improper watering and humidity, but don’t let that scare you. A little love can go a long way. Unlike many plants that have the “juvenile” leaf stage versus the “mature” leaf stage, the White Fusion gives you the beautiful colouration from the beginning and grows larger as the plant grows. The more room you give it, the larger it grows.
Stunning little troublemakers but worth the extra bit of love, they have made it on this year’s trendy list!

Silver Satin Pothos (Scindapsus pictus)
You know when plants just give off “I am the moment” vibes? This is that plant. Silver Satin Pothos, which actually belongs to the Araceae (Arum) family, is one of the most beloved pothos and not just for its gorgeous snowflake textured leaves.
Silver Satin has a velvety touch and matte texture. Their vines gracefully trail from the full-bodied base, and the best part? Low maintenance, low light tolerant, and will definitely take a place in your heart.
They’re incredibly durable. Their leaves are much thicker and more stable than the standard pothos. They are a forgiving plant when you forget to water them or accidentally overwater, it doesn’t even require high humidity.
They’re nonchalant, they’re pretty, they are that trendy plant for 2026.

Queen Anthurium (Anthurium Warocqueanum)
This plant is called Queen Anthurium for a reason. Okay, it’s called Queen due to its stunningly long, dark green, velvety leaves that resemble those pendants in a majestic crown, but we also like to believe it’s called Queen because it looks like a tricky plant, but is super easy to grow.
They love bright indirect light. They’re difficult to overwater as they’re thirsty plants and love a bit of humidity.
The shape of their leaves makes them perfect for the elevated shelf look, as they will provide that cover to almost appear like they are hanging down.
She’s a Queen, and she is the moment.

What do you think should be on this list?
Trendy plants aren’t decided by us; they are decided by what you want in your space. Whether it’s a pop of colour or elegance, we’ve tried to provide a plant that everyone might love.
