3 Things to Do for Your Houseplants in March

Spring is peeking around the corner, and your houseplants are waking up from their winter nap! March is a crucial month for indoor plants as the days get longer, temperatures shift, and new growth kicks in. To help your leafy friends thrive, here are three essential things to do for your houseplants in March.

Refresh Your Plant's Soil (But Don’t Go Overboard)

Your plants have been sitting in the same soil all winter, and they’re ready for a little refresh. March is a great time to:

  • Check for compacted soil – If water is pooling on top and not absorbing quickly, it’s time to aerate the soil or consider repotting. try sticking some chopsticks into the soil to aerate, and mix Enrich Powder through the loose top soil.

  • Repot if necessary – If roots are growing out of the drainage holes or circling inside the pot, it’s time for a bigger home! Grab a potting mat for mess free repotting.

Increase Your Fertilizer Regime

Most houseplants slow down their growth during winter, so you may not be feeding them as much. But as they wake up in March, they’re hungry! Here’s how to start feeding them again:

  • Use a gentle, organic fertilizer like Grow Concentrate– A diluted liquid fertilizer or a slow-release bioactive fertilizer works best for steady growth.

  • Watch out for chemical products – if you see lots of fertilizer granules in the soil, it might mean that your plant is living in chemicals. Consider repotting with Enrich Powder instead!

  • Watch for new growth – If you see fresh leaves, that’s a sign your plant is ready for more Grow Concentrate!

Start To Adjust Watering and Light

As the sun shifts and temperatures rise, your houseplants’ needs change too. Keep these things in mind:

  • Increase watering gradually – Your plants will start drinking more as they grow. Check the soil more often, but don’t overdo it!

  • Move plants closer to bright light – Sunlight is stronger now, so you can reposition plants to soak up more natural rays.

  • Watch for temperature fluctuations – If you’re still getting cold nights, keep plants away from chilly windows and doors.
